Composition and form of release

Inhibits the activity of osteoclasts and inhibits the resorption of bone tissue.

Indication

The increased need of the body for calcium (pregnancy, breast-feeding, the period of active growth), osteoporosis, incl. postmenopausal (prevention and treatment); rickets, osteomalacia, tetany, allergic reactions (auxiliaries).

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity; hypercalcemia (hyperparathyroidism, vitamin D overdose, bone metastases), multiple myeloma, sarcoidosis, marked renal failure, pronounced hypercalciuria.

Side effects

Dyspeptic phenomena: pain in epigastrium, flatulence, diarrhea, constipation.

Interaction

Reduces absorption in the gastrointestinal tract of tetracyclines (a spacing of at least 3 hours is required). Strengthens the cardiotoxic effect of cardiac glycosides. When administered simultaneously with sodium fluoride, it forms poorly digestible calcium fluoride.

Dosing and Administration

Inside, dissolving in a glass of water.

Adults: 1 table. 2-3 times a day; osteoporosis: the initial dose is 2 tablets. 2 times / day, after a few weeks the dose is reduced to normal.

Children: 1 table / day, with a pronounced lack of calcium in the body - 1 table. 2-3 times / day.

Precautionary measures

When administered concomitantly with vitamin D, the dosage should not exceed 2 tablets. per day. With urolithiasis, chronic renal failure and hypercalciuria should only be taken under the supervision of a doctor (control of the amount of calcium excreted in urine is necessary).
