Composition (per tablet):

1 tablet contains 40 mg of propranolol hydrochloride; 3 blisters in a box of 20 pieces.

1 ampoule of 5 ml of solution for injection - 5 mg; in a box of 10 pieces.

Pharmacological Properties of Obsidan

Pharmachologic effect - antianginal, hypotensive, anti-arrhythmic.

Beta-adrenoceptor blocking weakens the influence of the sympathetic impulses to the heart and reduces the frequency and force of heart contractions, the amount of cardiac output and myocardial oxygen demand.

Indications of Obsidan

Angina, progressive angina, silent myocardial ischemia, hypertension, arrhythmias, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, cardiopsychoneurosis, digitalis intoxication, hyperthyroidism, migraine, essential tremor family.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, AV block II-III degree, bradycardia, hypotension, obstructive airway disease; relative contra-indications - diabetes in the stage of sub- and decompensation, psoriasis in the acute stage.

Side effect

Weakness, dizziness, headache, paresthesia, cold extremities, diarrhea disorders, conjunctivitis, skin rashes, itching.

Interaction

Barbiturates, nicotine increases the effect of cimetidine - weakens; It reinforces the negative inotropic effect of calcium antagonists, negative dromotropic - cardiac glycosides, hypotensive - antihypertensive agents, antiarrhythmic - lidocaine. It increases the likelihood of hypoglycemia in the background insulin.

Dosage and Administration

Hypertension - 40 mg 2 times a day. If necessary, the dose can be increased to 2-4 weeks to 80-160 mg 2 times a day. Angina, migraine, essential tremor - 20 mg 2-3 times a day. The dose may be increased within 1 week to 40 mg four times a day or up to 80 mg 2-3 times a day. The maximum daily dose - 240 mg with 480 mg of migraine and angina. Arrhythmia, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, thyrotoxicosis - 10-40 mg 3-4 times a day (up to 240 mg / day).
