Pharmacotherapy. A synthetic peptide preparation consisting of D-amino acid residues of glutamic acid and tryptophan. It has an immunosuppressive effect, suppresses the response of humoral and cellular immunity, in expressed autoimmune processes it reduces the absolute content of peripheral blood lymphocytes, causing a proportional decrease in both helper and suppressor, but retains the number of peripheral blood stem cells. Reduces the recovery time of populations of committed (CFU-C8) and polypotent (CFU-C12) precursors of hemopoiesis after exposure to cytostatics. It is nontoxic and does not have mutagenic and teratogenic properties.
Indication. Conditions that occur with hyperimmune reactions: autoimmune single-, double- and triple-cytopenia (including primary and secondary), hypoplastic anemia. Therapy with cytostatic and chemotherapeutic drugs (for preserving stem cells and preventing granulocytopenia). Systemic diseases of connective tissue (including rheumatoid arthritis), psoriasis.
Contraindications. Hypersensitivity, pregnancy, uncontrolled arterial hypertension, infectious diseases in the acute phase.
Carefully. Lactation period, chronic and latent forms of infectious diseases.
Dosing. IM, 1-2 ml 0.1% solution daily for 7 days; If necessary, repeat the course with an interval of 7 days.
Intranasally injected 1 time per day for 1 ml of 0.1% solution for 7 days with subsequent weekly breaks between courses.
Side effect. Allergic reactions, possibly a transient decrease in the number of leukocytes (restored with continued treatment).
Special instructions. Apply only under the supervision of a doctor who has experience of immunosuppressive therapy.
