Composition and release form

1 capsule contains loperamide hydrochloride 2 mg; in a blister pack of 10 pcs., in a cardboard box 1 blister.

Dosage and administration

Inside For adults with acute and chronic diarrhea, the initial dose is 4 mg, subsequently, 2 mg after each bowel movement, gradually reducing the dose depending on the individual characteristics of the patient and the nature of the disease. The established optimal dose is prescribed once or in several doses. The average daily maintenance dose is usually 4–8 mg. The maximum daily dose is 16 mg. The therapeutic effect usually develops within 48 hours. If within 10 days, using up to 16 mg of the drug daily, it is not possible to achieve a therapeutic effect, the diagnosis should be reconsidered. The use of the drug can be repeated if dieting or specific treatment does not eliminate diarrhea. In case of acute diarrhea, children from 2 to 5 years old are prescribed 1 mg 3 times a day, from 6 to 8 years old - 2 mg 2 times a day, from 9 to 12 years old - 2 mg 3 times a day. On the 2nd day of treatment, if diarrhea continues, the drug is prescribed in a dose of 1 mg / 10 kg of body weight of the child. The daily dose should be the same as on the first day of treatment. For prolonged use in pediatric practice, therapeutic doses have not been established.
