Composition and release form

1 caplet contains loperamide hydrochloride 2 mg; in blisters of 6 pcs.

Pharmacological action - antidiarrheal.

Opiate receptor agonist of the intestine.

Pharmacodynamics

Reduces intestinal peristalsis, acting on the nerve endings and / or intramural ganglia of the intestinal walls, stimulates the absorption of salt and water. No pronounced analgesic effect.

Indications

Diarrhea (acute and chronic).

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, diarrhea, accompanied by fever (more than 38 ° C), the presence of mucus or blood in the feces, age (up to 6 years).

Side effects

Constipation, nausea, dizziness, allergic reactions (require discontinuation of the drug).

Interaction

Atropine and other anticholinergic agents enhance (mutually) the effect.

Dosage and administration

Inside, adults and children over 12 years old - 2 caplets after the first intestinal movement and 1 caplet after each subsequent, but not more than 4 caplets per day.

Children 9–11 years old (27–43 kg) - 1 caplet after the first intestinal movement and 1/2 caplet after each subsequent, but not more than 3 caplets per day; 6–8 years (21–26 kg) - 1 caplet after the first intestinal movement and 1/2 caplet after each subsequent, but not more than 2 caplets per day. Do not use for more than 2 days.

Precautionary measures

Use with caution in patients with liver disease and patients taking antibiotics. During treatment it is recommended to use a lot of fluids to prevent dehydration. In case of overdose, consult a doctor.

Storage conditions

At a temperature of 15–25 ° C.
