Precautionary measures

When there are altered or irregular menstrual flow, it is necessary to perform diagnostic curettage to exclude malignant neoplasms of the uterus. With long-term treatment, it is recommended to conduct preventive examinations at least once a year. It should be borne in mind that prolonged monotherapy increases the risk of developing endometrial cancer with a preserved uterus (the risk depends on both the duration of treatment and the dose of the drug). When using low doses of estrogen for a short period of increasing the incidence of breast cancer was not noted. Before the start of treatment, a thorough medical examination is mandatory, especially in women who have previously been or are currently on estrogen. Patients taking antihypertensive drugs, suffering from epilepsy, migraine, diabetes, bronchial asthma or heart failure should be under regular medical supervision. Treatment should be stopped with deep vein thrombosis, thromboembolic disorders, jaundice, increased migraine pain, sudden visual impairment, a significant increase in blood pressure, and 4-6 weeks before a scheduled surgical operation.
