Indications

Insufficient intake of calcium from food (including lack of dairy products in the diet); increased need for calcium (pregnancy, breast-feeding, period of intensive growth in children); violations of calcium absorption (including in old age), the period of convalescence; osteoporosis; rickets, osteomalacia (as additional therapy); pre- and postmenopausal demineralization of bones (prevention); allergic reactions (as an adjuvant); latent tetany.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, hypercalcemia (including hyperparathyroidism, vitamin D overdose, plasmacytoma, bone metastases), severe renal failure and hypercalciuria.

Interaction

Reduces the absorption of tetracycline antibiotics, fluoride preparations, quinolone derivatives, increases the arrhythmogenic effect of digoxin. Vitamin D increases absorption, thiazide diuretics (reduce calcium excretion in the urine) - the risk of hypercalcemia.

Dosing and Administration

Overdose

Symptoms: a violation of appetite, thirst, nausea, constipation, lethargy, pain in the muscles and joints, heart rhythm disturbances.
