Composition and release form

Application of pregnancy and breastfeeding

Interaction

Incompatible with troleandomycin; Cimetidine, erythromycin increase the concentration of theophylline in the blood, phenobarbital, carbamazepine, phenytoin and rifampicin - reduce.

Dosage and Administration

At 10 mg / kg / day in 2 divided doses, with insufficient effect and no side effects, the dose is increased by 150 mg / day; In the period of exacerbation of bronchial asthma - up to 600 mg 2 times a day. When using large doses (9 g per day) - on the third day determine the concentration of theophylline in the plasma 4 hours after the morning intake. Overdose

In children: stimulation, logoreia, psychosis, repeated vomiting, hyperthermia, tachycardia, fibrillation and fluttering of the ventricles of the heart, convulsions, hypotension, breathing disorders, ulceration in the digestive tract; In adults - cramps, hyperthermia, cardiac arrest. Treatment - gastric lavage, symptomatic therapy in the hospital.

Precautionary measures

Use with caution in cardiac, coronary and hepatic insufficiency, hyperthyroidism, gastroduodenal ulcer (dose adjustment is necessary). Special care is required when used in children (high sensitivity to xanthines).
