Characteristics

Pharmacology

Depolarizes the postsynaptic myoneural membrane. Resistant to the effects of synaptic cholinesterase, therefore, causes a prolonged depolarization of the muscle fiber and blockade of the neuromuscular transmission, which is prolonged by anticholinesterase agents. With repeated or prolonged use, a transition to an unpolarized block occurs with the development of prolonged respiratory depression and apnea. Promotes the release of histamine from the depot. The effect develops in 0,5-1 minutes (in / in) or 3 minutes (in / m). The duration of the effect with IV introduction is 4-10 min (maximum - after 1-2 min), with IM injection - 10-30 min. It is destroyed by pseudocholinesterase of the blood plasma. Excreted by the kidneys (10% unchanged).

Indications

Relaxation of muscles during surgical interventions: directing of dislocations, reposition of bone fragments; Electropulse therapy.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, bronchial asthma, myasthenia gravis, pregnancy.

Side effects

Attack glaucoma, muscle pain in the postoperative period, arrhythmias, bradycardia, hypersalivation, bronchospasm, hypotension, rhabdomyolysis with the development of myoglobinemia and myoglobinuria, fever, allergic reactions.

Interaction

Potentiates respiratory depression, vagal effects, histamine release caused by narcotic analgesics, cardiotonic activity of cardiac glycosides, reduces the effectiveness of anti-miasthenic agents. Anticholinesterase drugs, magnesium and lithium salts, procainamide, quinidine, antidepolarizing muscle relaxants prolong the action.
