Composition (per tablet): 1 coated tablet contains acebutolol (as hydrochloride) 200 mg; in blister 10 pcs., in a carton 2 blisters.

Pharmacological Properties of Sectral

Pharmachologic effect - antianginal, hypotensive, anti-arrhythmic.

Selectively blocking beta-adrenergic receptors of the heart, has an intrinsic sympathomimetic activity and membrane stabilizing effect.

Pharmacodynamics

It inhibits excitability and conductivity in the myocardium. It has a slight negative inotropic effect, a few minutes reduces emissions.

Indications for Sectral

Arrhythmia, including atrial fibrillation, angina pectoris, hypertension.

Contraindications for Sectral

AV block II and III degree, bradycardia, congestive heart failure, asthma, taking 24-48 hours before the start of anesthesia, the simultaneous use of MAO inhibitors, pregnancy (I term).

Pregnancy and breast-feeding

Contraindicated in pregnancy (I term).

Side effect of Sectral

Heart failure, AV block, bradycardia, hypertension; dyspepsia, hypoglycemia, allergic reactions.

Interaction

Enhances hypoglycemic effect of insulin and oral antidiabetic agents.

Dosage and Administration

Inside. Hypertension: 400 mg once daily (in the morning) or in 2 divided doses (morning and evening).

Angina and arrhythmias: 200 mg 2 times a day, in case of emergency - up to 300 mg three times daily, a maintenance dose - 100 mg 3 times or 200 mg 2 times a day.

Precautions

Treatment should be started after 2 weeks after administration of MAO inhibitors. Discontinue therapy should be gradually, in order to avoid the development of the syndrome of "cancellation" (increased symptoms until myocardial infarction).

Storage conditions of Sectral

In a dry, dark place.

Keep out of the reach of children.
