Psoriasis.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, a progressive stage of psoriasis, pustular psoriasis, diseases accompanied by impaired calcium metabolism, severe kidney and liver damage.

Not recommended during pregnancy. Breastfeeding mothers should stop breastfeeding during treatment.

Side effects

In rare cases: skin irritation (itching, burning or redness); can be marked dermatitis (face, perioral region).

Dosing and Administration

Ointment, cream: applied to the affected skin 1-2 times a day. The maximum daily dose is 15 g (not more than 100 g per week). The course should not exceed 1 year.

Solution: Apply 2 times a day to the affected areas of the scalp and lightly rub (no more than 60 ml per week). When used simultaneously with cream or ointment, the total dose of calcipotriol should not exceed 5 mg per week (ie 60 ml of solution and 30 g of cream or ointment, or 30 ml of solution and 60 g of cream or ointment). The duration of treatment depends on the clinical picture.

Overdose

Symptoms: the development of hypercalcemia.

Treatment: it is necessary to interrupt treatment and weekly monitor the serum calcium level.

Precautionary measures

It is not recommended to use simultaneously with salicylic acid and preparations containing it. Appointment to patients younger than 18 years is possible only in short courses, and in the event that other drugs do not bring a satisfactory result.
