Composition and release form

0.5 ml (1 dose) of the injection solution for the polyvalent pneumococcal vaccine contains purified polysaccharides of Streptococcus pneumoniae 0.025 mg (each of 23 serotypes: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6B, 7F, 8, 9N, 9V, 10A, 11A , 12F, 14, 15B, 17F, 18C, 19A, 19F, 20, 22F, 23F, 33F), as well as phenol, as a preservative, up to 1.25 mg and isotonic buffer (sodium chloride 4.15 mg, dibasic Sodium phosphate 0.065 mg, monobasic sodium phosphate 0.023 mg, water for injection up to 0.5 ml) to 0.5 ml; In syringes for 1 dose, in a carton 1 syringe.

Indications of the drug Pneumo 23

Prevention of infections of pneumococcal etiology in adults and children older than 2 years (especially the respiratory tract), in persons belonging to different risk groups; Sickle-cell anemia, condition before or after splenectomy.

Contraindications

The pronounced response to the previous administration of the vaccine, the anti-pneumococcal vaccination is less than 3 years before the proposed vaccination.

Application of pregnancy and breastfeeding

Vaccination of pregnant women is not recommended (there is no data on the effect of vaccination on fetal development).

Side effects

Allergic reactions (with the possibility of developing the phenomenon of Arthus); Sometimes - redness, slight soreness or denseness at the injection site; Rarely - a slight increase in body temperature, chills, asthenia, headache, and other functional disorders and minor general reactions lasting (on average) not more than 24 hours; With a revaccination performed earlier than the deadline - the possibility of developing more severe local reactions.

Interaction

Simultaneous therapy with immunosuppressive drugs reduces the immune response.

Dosing and Administration

SC or IM; With a primary immunization - a single injection. Revaccination - no earlier than 5 years, with the exception of those at high risk or patients with immunosuppressive therapy.

Precautionary measures

In connection with the possibility of developing serious adverse reactions (such as the phenomenon of Arthus) during vaccination, it is recommended that the contraindications be strictly observed and the need for vaccination should be assessed (since the determination of the effectiveness of vaccination was carried out only in persons at risk).
