The contents of capsules - powder white or white with a yellowish tinge. Hard gelatin capsules yellow ¹ 1 to 200 mg dosage ¹ 0 and white for the dosage of 300 mg.Ingredients for the dosage of 200 mg:

Active ingredient: rac-hopantenic acid (D, L-hopantenic acid) 200 mg;
Excipients:
microcrystalline cellulose 13.98 mg magnesium stearate 1.02 mg; hard gelatin capsules ¹ 1 (Capsule composition: 2% of titanium dioxide, yellow ferric oxide 0.6286% gelatin, 100%).

Pharmacological Properties
Pharmacodynamics.
Pantogam aktiv effect due to the presence in its structure of gamma-aminobutyric acid, which directly affects the GABA B receptor-channel complex. Pantogam aktiv® is a racemic mixture of equal amounts of R-form hopantenic acid and its S-isomer. The presence of isomer improves the transport and interaction of the drug with GABA receptor. Pantogam aktiv® has a more pronounced neuroprotective and anticonvulsant action than hopantenic acid drugs of the first generation.
Pantogam aktiv increases brain resistance to hypoxia and exposure to toxic substances, stimulates anabolic processes in neurons, it combines moderate sedation with a mild stimulating effect. It has antiastenic and light anti-anxiety effect. Reduces the excitability of the motor, regulates behavior. It activates mental activity and performance. It causes inhibition of pathologically elevated cystic and reflex detrusor tone.
Pharmacokinetics.
Rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. It penetrates through the blood-brain barrier. Do not metabolized and excreted unchanged in the next 48 hours: about 70% of the dose - in the urine, about 30% - with the feces.

Indications for use:

• cognitive disorders in organic brain lesions (including the effects of neuroinfections and traumatic brain injury) and neurotic disorders;
• cerebrovascular insufficiency caused by atherosclerotic changes in vessels of the brain;
• extrapyramidal hyperkinesis (myoclonus epilepsy, Huntington's chorea, hepatolenticular degeneration, Parkinson's disease, and others.), as well as for the treatment of extrapyramidal syndrome induced by neuroleptics;
• epilepsy in conjunction with anticonvulsants;
• psycho-emotional overload, reduced mental and physical performance, to improve concentration and memory;
• neurogenic bladder disorders (pollakiuria, urgency, imperative urinary incontinence, enuresis);
  in schizophrenia therapy in the complex.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity, acute severe kidney disease, pregnancy (1 trimester), lactation, age of the patient under 18 years of age (there are no clinical studies on the use of the drug at an earlier age).

Dosage and administration of Pantogam Activ
Inside, after 15-20 minutes after meals 2-3 times a day, preferably in the morning and afternoon hours.200 mg capsules - at 1-4 capsules (0.2 - 0.8 g). The maximum daily dose of 12 capsules (2.4 g).
Capsules 300 mg - 1-3 capsules (0.3 - 0.9 g). The maximum daily dose of 8 capsules (2.4 g).
The course of treatment - 1-4 months, sometimes up to 6-12 months. After 3-6 months may conduct re-treatment.

Special instructions.

In the context of long-term treatment is not recommended to co-administration of the drug with other nootropic and stimulating the central nervous system agents.

Side effect

In rare cases, allergic reactions (rhinitis, conjunctivitis, skin rashes). In this case overturned drug. Very rarely observed adverse reactions from the central nervous system (disturbed sleep or drowsiness, headache, dizziness, noise in my head). In this case the dose is reduced.

Overdose of Pantogam Activ
Increased symptoms of side effects. Treatment: activated charcoal, gastric lavage, symptomatic therapy.

Interaction with other drugs
Prolonging effect of barbiturates, it enhances the effects of anticonvulsants to prevent side effects of phenobarbital, carbamazepine, neuroleptics. Effect Pantogam aktiv® enhanced when combined with glycine, Etidronic acid. Potentiates the action of local anesthetics (procaine).

Product form:
Capsules in 200 mg and 300 mg.For the 200 mg dosage capsules 60, for the dosage of 300 mg or 50 to 30 capsules in polymeric jars with lids.
