Pharmacological Properties of NaphthyzinPharmachologic effect
vasoconstrictor.
It stimulates alpha2-adrenergic receptors, constricts blood vessels of the nasal mucous membranes, reduces swelling, hyperemia, exudation mucosa. Facilitates nasal breathing in rhinitis.
Indications for Naphthyzin
Acute rhinitis, sinusitis, laryngitis, evstahiit, rhinoscopy (to facilitate).
Contraindications for Naphthyzin
Hypersensitivity to the drug, hypertension, hyperthyroidism, expressed atherosclerosis, tachycardia, simultaneous reception of MAO inhibitors and the period up to 14 days after the end of their use, children's age.
Side effects
The reactions caused by local action of the drug: irritation, reactive hyperemia, the application of more than 1 week - mucosal edema, atrophic rhinitis.
Reactions due to systemic effects of the drug include nausea, headache, and in some cases in predisposed patients - increased blood pressure, tachycardia.
Interaction
Do not combine with MAO inhibitors (monoamine oxidase) (after the end of their application prescribed the drug no earlier than 14 days).
It extends the action of local anesthetics used for surface anesthesia.
Dosage and Administration
Intranasal (in each nostril), adults - 1-3 drops 3-4 times a day.

Not recommended for use in chronic rhinitis.
