pharmachologic effect

The pharmacological action is contraceptive, gestagenic.

Increases the viscosity of the cervical mucus that prevents penetration of sperm into the uterine cavity, blocks the release of corticotropin releasing factor (luteinizing and follicle) of the hypothalamus, inhibits secretion of gonadotropic hormone by the pituitary gland, and thus inhibits ovulation; Prevents the proliferation of the endometrium, reduces the amount of menstrual bleeding, eliminates pre- and menstrual pain.

Indications

Prevention of unwanted pregnancies, incl. as an adjunct in women using non-hormonal methods of contraception, as well as with contraindications to the use of poor tolerability or progestogen-estrogen drugs.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, pregnancy, severe liver function abnormalities, liver cancer and thromboembolic processes (including history), diabetes with vascular complications, hormone-dependent breast cancer or endometrial cancer, vaginal bleeding of unknown etiology.

pregnancy and lactation

Contraindicated in pregnancy. It can be applied during breastfeeding (because of the low dose of hormonal agents, isolating it from the breast milk substantially does not occur).

Side effects

In some cases - menstrual disorders (frequent and / or irregular bleeding, amenorrhea), breast tenderness, headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, skin lesions (including acne and hirsutism), change in body weight and libido, depression, Change in vaginal secretion, deterioration in the tolerability of contact lenses, allergic reactions.

Dosing and Administration
