Pharmacodynamics

It blocks peroxidase, involved in the synthesis (the process of iodination) of thyroid hormones of the thyroid gland.

Indication

Hyperfunction of the thyroid gland, thyrotoxic crisis, preparation for thyroidectomy.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, granulocytopenia (including in the anamnesis), pregnancy, breast-feeding.

Allergic reactions. Rarely - fever, changes in the sense of taste, violations in the system of hematopoiesis.

Dosing and Administration

Inside, after meals, with light and medium forms - 0,005 g 3-4 times a day, with severe form - 0,01 g 3-4 times a day. After the onset of remission, appoint 2.5-10 mg per day. Children - 0.3-0.5 mg per 1 kg of body weight.
