Pharmacological action - antidiarrheal.
Inhibition of motility and intestinal secretion.
Indications
Acute and chronic diarrhea of various origins (symptomatic therapy), stool regulation in patients with ileostomy.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity, ulcerative colitis in the acute stage, acute pseudomembranous colitis, pregnancy (I term), breastfeeding, age up to 6 years.

Side effects
Dry and unpleasant taste in the mouth, bloating, constipation, headaches.
Interaction
Compatible with antibacterial drugs.
Dosage and administration
Inside In acute and chronic diarrhea: for adults, the initial dose is 4 mg, then 2 mg after each act of defecation (in the case of liquid stool), the maximum daily dose is 16 mg; children over 6 years old have an initial dose of 2 mg, then 1 mg after each liquid stool, the maximum daily dose is 4 mg (children 6–8 years old) or 6 mg (children over 8 years old).
Precautionary measures
In case of acute diarrhea, it is necessary to compensate for the loss of water and electrolytes.
