Pharmacological action - a comedonolytic, anti-inflammatory local.

Pharmacodynamics

Adapalene is a retinoid metabolite, has a comedonolytic and anti-inflammatory activity, normalizes the processes of keratinization and epidermal differentiation.

The mechanism of action of adapalene is based on interaction with specific γ-receptors of skin epidermal cells. As a result of the action of adapalene in particular, the adhesion of epithelial cells to the mouth of the sebaceous-hair follicle decreases and the preconditions for the formation of micro-comedones decrease. Adapalene has an anti-inflammatory effect in vivo and in vitro, affecting inflammatory factors by inhibiting the migration of leukocytes in the focus of inflammation and the metabolism of arachidonic acid.

Pharmacokinetics

Absorption of adapalene through the skin is very low (about 4% of the applied dose). Excretion from the body occurs mainly through bile.

Indications

Acne.

Contraindications

hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients of the drug;

pregnancy;

Application in pregnancy and lactation

It is not recommended to use the drug during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Side effects

Skin irritation (treatment should be stopped until skin irritation disappears or frequency of application is reduced).

Interaction

Since the drug does not interact with oxygen and does not break down under the influence of light, it is possible to treat concurrent treatment with acne with such drugs as clindamycin phosphate or benzoyl peroxide.

Dosing and Administration

Outerly, before applying the Clenzite gel, it is necessary to clean and dry the skin of the face. With a gentle touch, apply the gel evenly to the affected area 1 time a day before bedtime, avoiding getting the product into the eyes and lips.

The therapeutic effect develops after 4-8 weeks of treatment, persistent improvement - after a 3-month treatment.

In some cases, due to short-term skin irritation, treatment can be suspended until the symptoms of irritation disappear.

Repeated treatment is possible after consultation with a doctor.

Overdose

It is unlikely.

Avoid contact with the eyes and lips. If you accidentally get the drug on the mucous eyes, mouth or nose, rinse thoroughly with warm water.

Avoid direct sunlight. may cause skin irritation. Treatment can be continued if the solar exposure is minimized (using sunglasses and hats).

It is not recommended simultaneous use of cosmetic products with drying and irritating effect on the skin (eg perfume or alcohol-containing products).

Adapalene, applied to the skin in the evening, can be combined with drugs for the treatment of blackheads, applied in the morning.
