Nosological classification (ICD-10)
E10 Insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus
Decompensation of carbohydrate metabolism, Diabetes mellitus, Diabetes insulin sugar, Diabetes mellitus type 1, Diabetic ketoacidosis, Insulin-dependent diabetes, Insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, Coma hyperosmolar non-ketoacidotic, Labile form of diabetes mellitus, Violation of carbohydrate metabolism, Type 1 diabetes mellitus, Type I diabetes mellitus, Insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, Type 1 diabetes mellitus
Characteristics
Monocomponent (chromatographically pure) porcine insulin-aminoquinuride of average duration of action (10-12 h).
Pharmacology
Pharmacological action - hypoglycemic.
Reduces the level of glucose in the blood, glucosuria, increases the absorption of glucose by tissues (facilitates its penetration into cells). Enhances protein synthesis, lipogenesis and glycogenogenesis, reduces the rate of glucose production by the liver. The action begins 45-60 minutes after the SC administration, reaches a maximum after 2-6 hours, continues - 10-14 hours.
Indications
Insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (type 1), non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (type 2) with resistance to oral hypoglycemic drugs); Intercurrent diseases or operations in patients with diabetes mellitus.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity, hypoglycemia, insuloma, paragroup allergy, pronounced decompensation of metabolism.
Side effects
Hypoglycemia, hypoglycemic precoma and coma, lipohypertrophy, lipodystrophy, transient edema, hypermetropia, increase in the titer of anti-insulin antibodies, allergic reactions.
Interaction
The hypoglycemic effect is enhanced by MAO inhibitors, nonselective beta-blockers, sulfonamides and alcohol, weakening - oral contraceptives, glucocorticoids, thyroid hormones, thiazide diuretics.
Overdose
Symptoms: hypoglycemia.
Treatment: the appointment of glucose inside (if the patient is conscious), parenteral administration of glucagon or glucose (IV).
Routes of administration
F / k, in / m.
Precautions
You can not enter IV (intravenously).
special instructions
It should be borne in mind that during pregnancy, the need for insulin increases.
