Pharmachologic effect

Pharmacological action - antidepressant.

Selective blocker of serotonin reuptake in synapses of CNS neurons. It has a small effect on cholinergic, adrenergic and histamine receptors. Helps improve mood, eliminate feelings of fear, emotional tension, dysphoria. Practically does not have a sedative effect. A persistent clinical effect, as a rule, develops after 2-3 weeks of continuous intake of the drug.

Pharmacokinetics

Well absorbed in the digestive tract, regardless of food intake. Bioavailability of 60-80%. Cmax is achieved in 4-8 hours. Binding to plasma proteins is about 90%. Dosing and Administration

Depression: 20 mg once a day in the morning. If necessary, after 3-4 weeks, the dose may be increased to 20 mg twice a day (morning and evening). The maximum daily dose is 80 mg 1-2 times a day.

Obsessive-compulsive disorder: 20-60 mg / day.
