Deficiency of iron, incl. Iron deficiency anemia (treatment and prophylaxis in pregnancy).

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, hemosiderosis, anemia associated with impaired iron utilization (lead, sideroblastic) and non-iron-deficient (hemolytic, B12-deficient), chronic pancreatitis, cirrhosis.

Application of pregnancy and breastfeeding

It is indicated for iron deficiency conditions developing during pregnancy and lactation.

Side effects of the substance Ferrous protein succinilate

From the gastrointestinal tract: nausea, pain in the epigastric region, diarrhea, constipation.

Interaction

Derivatives of iron disrupt the absorption of tetracyclines (simultaneous use should be avoided). With simultaneous intake of iron absorption increases vitamin C (in doses of more than 200 mg), reduce - antacids. Chloramphenicol causes a delayed response to iron therapy.

Overdose

Symptoms: pain in the epigastric region, nausea, vomiting (sometimes with an admixture of blood), diarrhea, pallor, drowsiness, shock, coma.

Treatment: gastric lavage, symptomatic therapy.

Routes of administration

Inside, before a meal.

The total duration of treatment should not exceed 6 months, except for cases of chronic hemorrhage (menorrhagia, hemorrhoids, etc.) and pregnancy.
