Pharmacology

Pharmacological action - anti-inflammatory, analgesic.

It inhibits cyclooxygenase, inhibits biosynthesis of PG from arachidonic acid. Partially absorbed from the skin surface. In the blood, it binds to proteins by 98-99%. Bioavailability is about 20%. Renal failure does not affect the concentration in the plasma.

Application of Etofenamate

Rheumatic diseases of soft tissues and musculoskeletal system, myositis, myalgia, lumbago, sciatica, tendosinovitis, bursitis, bruises, sprains, degenerative diseases of the spine and joints (spondylosis, arthrosis).

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity (including to other derivatives of anthranil and flufenamic acids and other NSAIDs).

Side effects

Redness of the skin, itching, burning sensation; very rarely - dermatitis.

Overdose

Symptoms - headache, dizziness, unpleasant sensations in the epigastric region. Treatment is symptomatic.

Locally.

Avoid getting the drug on the damaged and eczema-affected skin. If accidentally the skin contains the contents of one or more tubes, excess gel (cream) should be washed off immediately.
