Pharmacology
Pharmacological effect
Combined preparation has H1-antihistamine (diphenhydramine) and vasoconstrictor (naphazoline) action. It reduces swelling of the conjunctiva.
Indications
Allergic conjunctivitis.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity (including to sympathomimetic amines), angle-closure glaucoma, pregnancy, lactation, children's age (up to 2 years).
Precaution
Hyperthyroidism, hypertension, atherosclerosis, arrhythmia, chronic rhinitis, bronchial asthma, adrenal adenoma, advanced age.
Dosage
Enter into the conjunctival sac 1-3 times daily for 1-2 cap.
Side effect
Burning, itching, redness, conjunctival irritation, eye pain, visual disturbances, dry nasal mucosa. Mydriasis, increased intraocular pressure. Described an isolated case of corneal clouding (when used within 7 days of at least 10 times a day), which disappeared after discontinuation of treatment.
Rarely - systemic side effects: drowsiness, palpitations, increased blood pressure, headache, dizziness, nausea.
Overdose
Symptoms: long-term and frequent use in children under 6 years old - CNS depression, hypothermia, prolonged mydriasis, increased blood pressure, tachycardia, coma.
Treatment symptomatic.
