Pharmacological action - antitumor, cytostatic, antigonadotropic.

Daily injections of Decapeptal initially cause stimulation of pituitary secretion of LH and FSH. After a period of stimulation, the desensitisation of the pituitary gland develops, the level of gonadotropins decreases, which leads to a decrease in the concentration of sex hormones in the blood before the postastrational level. The effect is reversible.

Indications

IVF program (in vitro fertilization), endometriosis, uterine myoma, prostate cancer, hypogonadotropic amenorrhea.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, pregnancy.

Side effects

Associated with a decrease in the level of sex hormones in the blood: a decrease in libido, mood lability, depression, hot flashes, insignificant demineralization of bones (without increased fragility), local allergic reactions (hyperemia, itching at the injection site).

Dosing and Administration

Treatment of infertility in women by IVF.

1. Decapeptil 0.1 mg sc / 1 ml / day daily from 21 days of the menstrual cycle preceding the treatment, until the introduction of chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). At the same time from 3 days of the medical menstrual cycle, the hMG preparation is introduced (for example - Menogon). The drug hCG is administered for 34-36 h before the planned puncture of the follicles.

2. Decapeptil 0.5 mg sc 1 ml / day daily from 21 days of the menstrual cycle preceding the treatment (up to 3 days of the treatment cycle). Dekapeptil 0.1 mg sc / 1 ml / day from 3 days of the treatment cycle until the administration of the drug hCG. At the same time from 3 days of the medical menstrual cycle, the hMG preparation is introduced (for example - Menogon). The injection site should be changed.

For a prolonged course of treatment, it is recommended to use Decapeptil Depot - 1 injection every 28 days.
