Indications

Dementia in Alzheimer's disease (mild and moderate severity) in adults, including the elderly (symptomatic treatment).

Contraindications

Nausea, vomiting, dyspeptic gastrointestinal disorders, diarrhea, headache, dizziness, fatigue, insomnia, convulsions, fainting, bradycardia, sinoatrial and AV blockade, increased serum creatine kinase fraction.

Interaction

Inhibitors of cytochrome P450 (ketoconazole, quinidine) increase (suppress biotransformation), and inducers (rifampicin, phenytoin, carbamazepine, alcohol) lower blood levels. The effect is unpredictably increased by other anticholinesterase agents, holinomimetics, weakened by holinoblockers.

Dosing and Administration

Inside, in the evening (just before bedtime); In the initial dose - 5 mg once a day for 1 month; If necessary, in the future, the dose can be increased to 10 mg once a day. The maximum recommended daily dose is 10 mg. Supportive therapy can be continued as long as the therapeutic effect remains.
