Pharmacology
Pharmacological action - adsorbent, enveloping, antacid.
Neutralizes excess hydrochloric acid without secondary hypersecretion, does not disturb the digestive processes, reduces pain and heartburn.
Application of Algeldrate
Diseases of the gastrointestinal tract with increased gastric secretion: esophagitis, acute gastritis, acute duodenitis, peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum in the phase of exacerbation; hernia of the esophageal opening of the diaphragm; functional bowel disease; colitis, heartburn, discomfort and epigastric pain caused by dietary disorders and alcohol, coffee and / or nicotine abuse.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity, severe renal dysfunction, hypophosphatemia, increased concentration of aluminum ions in the blood (a risk factor for Alzheimer's disease), constipation, stenosing lesions of the large intestine.
Side effects
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea; a decrease in the concentration of phosphorus and an increase in magnesium and aluminum in the blood serum.
Interaction
Reduces the absorption of other drugs from the gastrointestinal tract (tetracyclines, fluoroquinolones, digoxin, indomethacin, acetylsalicylic acid, histamine H2-receptor blockers, beta-blockers, psychotropic and phosphorus-containing drugs), so the interval between doses should be 2 hours, and for fluoroquinolones - 4 hours. The absorption of aluminum is enhanced by the intake of acidic drinks (fruit juices, wines, etc.).
