Vitabact eye drops 0.05% 10ml

Vitabact (Vitabakt) eye drops – antimicrobial medicine from group of biguanides which is applied to treatment of the inflammatory diseases of forward department of an eye (conjunctivitis, keratit) caused by sensitive microorganisms. Possesses a wide range of antimicrobial action (bacteria, some types of viruses and fungi).

It is active in the relation:

• Staphylococcus aureus.
• Streptococcus faecalis.
• Escherichia coli.
• Eberthella typhosa.
• Klebsiella pneumoniae.
• Proteus vulgaris.
• Shigella dysenteriae.
• Bacillus subtilis.
• Chlamydia trachomatis.
• Some viruses and mushrooms.

The main operating component of eye drops Vitabact is Picloxydinum - the bond from group of biguanides possessing a wide range of antimicrobic action. Drug is effective at treatment of the infectious damages to forward departments of an eye caused by pathogenic coccuses, shigellas, colibacillus, chlamydias, some types of viruses and mushrooms.

After burying Vitabakt works mainly locally, the absorption of a piloksidin is practically not observed therefore it can get to a systemic blood stream in insignificant quantities.

Indications:

Adults and children of 0 years:

• bacteriemic infections of forward department of an eye;
• dacryocystitis;
• prophylaxis of infectious complications in the postoperative period after surgical interventions in the field of forward department of an eye.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the drug.

Suggested Use:

In the treatment of bacterial infections the drug is instilled into the conjunctival SAC 1 drop 2-6 times/day. The duration of treatment is 10 days, the feasibility and the need to increase treatment time for more than 10 days determined by your doctor.

In the postoperative period the drug is instilled into the conjunctival SAC 1 drop 3-4 times per day.

For the prevention of postoperative complications (preoperative preparation) instilled 1-2 drops of the drug into the conjunctival SAC immediately before surgery.

How to use the drug

Eye drops Vitabact is available in sealed plastic bottles with dropper for instillation is not required pipettes. To open the bottle must be screwed to lock the lid, wherein the tongue on its inner side has to pierce the dropper.

For the instillation of eye drops should the patient's head to tilt back slightly, the eyes of the patient should be directed upwards. The drug is instilled into the lower conjunctival SAC, gently pulling the lower eyelid.

To prevent contamination of the drug solution in the instillation, patients should avoid contact of dropper tip with eye and skin.

Special instructions:

With simultaneous use with other ophthalmic drugs the interval between the drops shall not be less than 15 min.

Vitabact does not stain contact lenses, including soft hydrophilic, however, when infectious diseases of the eye wearing contact lenses is contraindicated.

Do not use eye drops Vitabact for subconjunctival injection or introduce into the anterior chamber of the eye.

Effects on ability to drive vehicles and management mechanisms

When reduced clarity of view on the background of treatment with the drug, patients should abandon driving and work with machinery.
