Clinical pharmacology

Indications
Difficulty in nasal breathing (acute rhinitis, sinusitis), otitis media (to reduce swelling of the mucous nasopharynx).
Contraindications

Side effects

Xymelin Dosage and Administration
Intranasal, adults and children over 6 years - 2-3 drops or 1 dose spray for children 2 to 6 years - 1-2 drops or 1 dose spray into each nostril 1-3 times a day. Drops of 1 mg / ml - adults and children over 6 years, drops 0.5 mg / ml - Children from 2 to 6 years old, spray 1 mg / ml - adults and children over 6 years old, spray 0.5 mg / ml - children 2-6 years.
The drug is administered less than 7 days.
Do not use in children under 2 years of age without a doctor's prescription.
Overdose
Symptoms: CNS depression, tachycardia, hypertension, fever, irritability, circular collapse, coma, convulsions.
Treatment: the use of alpha-agonists blocking agents.
Precautionary measures
Not recommended for use in high doses and too often in patients with hypertension, heart failure or thyrotoxicosis; caution is required when used in patients who are receiving MAO inhibitors.
