Pharmacokinetics

Indications

Rhinitis, pharyngitis, sinusitis, hay fever, to reduce swelling of the nasal mucosa with therapeutic and diagnostic activities.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, dry rhinitis, up to 2 years - 0.05% and up to 6 years - 0.1% nose drops.

Side effects

Locally - reactive hyperemia, burning sensation, chronic swelling of nasal mucosa (with prolonged use); rarely - palpitations, headache, tremor, weakness, sweating, increased blood pressure.

Interaction

Intranasally instilled into each nostril while the position of the head, is slightly deflected backward. Adults and children over 6 years - 2-4 drops (0.1%), children 2-6 years - 2-3 nose drops for children (0.05%).

Use as needed, but not more than 1 time in 4 hours. As a rule, it is sufficient to less frequent use of drops, as in most instances the drug has long-term effect (often up to 8 hours). Use of the drug before bed ensures a restful sleep throughout the night, without requiring additional use of the drug and not causing insomnia as a result of central stimulation.

Tyzine used no more than 3-5 days or longer, but on the advice of a doctor. Re-appointment is possible only after a few days.

Dosage and Administration

Overdose

Symptoms - mydriasis, nausea, cyanosis, fever, convulsions, tachycardia, arrhythmia, heart failure, hypertension, pulmonary edema, respiratory failure, mental disorders. Symptoms usually cropped own. If not, you need gastric lavage (with activated carbon), oxygen therapy, anti-pyretic and anti-seizure medications for reducing blood pressure - in / in slowly introduce 5 mg phentolamine in the saline or 100 mg orally.
