Description of dosage form

Cream from light yellow with a greenish tinge to a yellow with a greenish tint of color with the smell of dimethylsulfoxide.

pharmachologic effect

Pharmacological action - chondroprotective, anti-inflammatory local, local anesthetic.

Pharmacodynamics

The drug Theraflex® Chondrocream Forte has a combined effect: it slows the progression of osteoarthritis and osteochondrosis, has an analgesic effect, promotes an increase in joint motion (in the area of application of the cream), has anti-inflammatory action, reduces swelling of the joints. Due to the optimal combination of the components of the cream, there is a mutual enhancement of their analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects.

Chondroitin sulfate is a high molecular weight mucopolysaccharide, which is a natural component of cartilaginous tissue. Chondroitin sulfate improves phosphoric-calcium metabolism in cartilaginous tissue, inhibits enzymes that cause cartilage damage, inhibits degeneration (destruction) of cartilaginous tissue, stimulates the synthesis of glycosaminoglycans, promotes the regeneration (restoration) of the cartilaginous surfaces of the joints, speeds up the processes of their repair, prevents the collapse of connective tissue . This leads to a decrease in soreness and increased mobility of the affected joints.

Meloxicam - NSAIDs - has an anti-inflammatory, analgesic effect. Meloxicam selectively inhibits COX-2, disrupts the metabolism of arachidonic acid, reduces the amount of PG (mediators of pain and inflammation) in the inflammatory focus. Meloxicam is a chondrojetral drug, it does not have a negative effect on cartilaginous tissue, does not affect the synthesis of proteoglycan by chondrocytes of articular cartilage.

Indications

In the complex therapy of degenerative-dystrophic diseases of the musculoskeletal system:

osteoarthritis;

osteocondritis of the spine;

Other joint diseases accompanied by pain syndrome.

Contraindications

hypersensitivity to the components of the drug (as well as other NSAIDs);

violation of the integrity of the skin in places of intended application;

children's age (up to 12 years).

With caution: impaired renal and hepatic function; pronounced pathology of the gastrointestinal tract (peptic ulcer in the phase of exacerbation); marked pathology of the blood system; elderly age.

pregnancy and lactation

The use of the drug is contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation.

Side effects

There may be allergic reactions from the skin (itching, redness, skin rash).

If there are any side effects, stop using the cream and consult a doctor.

Interaction

Cases of interaction or incompatibility with other drugs are not described.

Dosing and Administration

Locally. Lightly rub a strip of cream length from 1 to 5 cm, multiplicity of application - 2-3 times a day. The required amount of the drug depends on the size of the painful area.

After applying the product, the hands should be thoroughly washed.

The duration of treatment depends on the indications and the effect observed. After 2 weeks of use the drug should consult with a doctor.

Overdose

Extremely low systemic absorption of active components of the drug with external application makes an overdose almost impossible.

The drug should be applied only to intact skin, avoiding getting on open wounds. Do not allow the drug to enter the eyes and mucous membranes.

You should consult your doctor before sharing the drug Theraflex® with Chondrochem Forte with other NSAIDs, and also if you need to use the drug for more than 2 weeks.

Impact on the ability to drive vehicles and manage mechanisms. The drug does not cause sedation, psychomotor disorders and does not affect a patient's ability to engage in potentially dangerous activities that require increased attention and speed of mental and motor reactions.
