Description of dosage form

Pieces of leaves of various shapes. The color is greyish-green with yellowish-green, brownish-green and purple blotches. The smell is absent. The taste of water extract is weak - bitter with a sensation of mucus.

Characteristic

Mother-and-stepmother leaves contain mucus, tannins, bitterness, flavonoids and other biologically active substances.

An expectorant of plant origin.

pharmachologic effect

Infusion mother - and - stepmothers of leaves exposes expectorant, weak anti-inflammatory effect. Slime, organic acids and saponins contribute to the dilution of viscous discharge in the upper respiratory tract, improvement of sputum discharge. Due to the high content of mucus, the mother-and-stepmother's preparations have an enveloping effect on the mucous membranes of the mouth, throat and larynx, preventing them from irritation.

Indications

Inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract (laryngitis, tracheitis, chronic bronchitis, bronchopneumonia), accompanied by a cough with hard-to-separate sputum.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, pregnancy, lactation, children under 12 years.

Dosing and Administration

About 10 grams (2 tablespoons) of mother - and - stepmother leaves are placed in enamel ware, pour 200 ml (1 cup) of boiling water, cover with a lid and heat in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes, cool at room temperature for 45 minutes, filter, the remaining raw material is squeezed. The volume of the infusion obtained is adjusted to 200 ml with boiled water.

Take inside in a warm form 2-3 tablespoons 2-3 times a day for 1 hour before meals.

Before use, the infusion is recommended to be shaken.
