Composition

Nasal spray 10ml

xylometazoline hydrochloride 10 mg

eucalyptus oil

in bottles of 10 ml; vial 1 in box complete with a device for spraying.

Pharmachologic effect
vasoconstrictor, antikongestivnoe.

It stimulates alpha-adrenergic receptors of the nasal mucosa; eucalyptus oil moisturizes the mucosa.

pharmacodynamics

It reduces swelling of nasal mucosa in rhinitis and facilitates the outflow of secretions in sinusitis.

Indications of the drug Dr. Theiss Nazolin

Acute and chronic rhinitis, vasomotor rhinitis, allergic rhinitis (including hay fever), inflammation of the sinuses, otitis media on a background of rhinitis.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, inflammation of the nasal mucosa without releasing secret, angle-closure glaucoma, post-operative period in the case of transfenoidalnoy hypophysectomy, transnasal or transoral surgical procedures, long-term use in chronic inflammation of the nasal mucosa, the age of 6 years.

Side effects

Burning in the nose (short), dryness of the nasal mucosa, increased congestion, headache, dizziness, sleepiness (or sleeplessness), increased blood pressure and heart rate, chronic swelling (and later atrophy) of the nasal mucosa with long-term use.

Interaction

Weakens the effect of antihypertensives.

Dr. Theiss nose spray Dosage and Administration

Intranasal (holding the bottle upright, spray nozzle introduced into each nostril and sharply pressed against the dispenser, while the air sucked nose injection). Adults and children over 6 years - 1 injection into each nostril once a day (usually 4) for 2 weeks.

Precautionary measures

Used with caution during pregnancy, diabetes (it is recommended to evaluate the benefits and harms on the application), the elderly and children. If a 2-week course given insufficient effect, especially in chronic inflammation of the nasal mucosa, it should consult with the otorhinolaryngology.
