Structure and Composition
1 capsule contains 50 mg of phenylpropanolamine hydrochloride and chlorpheniramine maleate 4 mg; in blister 6 pcs., in box 1 blister.

Blocks histamine H1- and m-cholinergic receptors, enhances peripheral sympathetic impulses.
pharmacodynamics
It eases symptoms of rhinitis and sinusitis of different etiologies. It reduces allergic reactions.
Pharmacokinetics
Phenylpropanolamine easily and rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, excreted largely unchanged. Chlorpheniramine is readily absorbed and distributed in the tissues, almost 70% bound to plasma proteins. It is metabolized in the liver. Excreted in the urine as metabolites - dimetilhlorfeniramina and didesmetilhlorfeniramina and partially unchanged.
Indications
Strong runny nose, nasal congestion, colds and flu, hay fever, sinusitis.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity, arterial hypertension, pheochromocytoma, thyrotoxicosis, diabetes mellitus, heart failure, children's age (12 years).
Pregnancy and breast-feeding
Acceptable, but only on prescription.
Side effects
Headache, sleepiness, psychomotor disturbances, dry mouth, gastrointestinal disorders, urinary retention, accommodation paresis, photosensitivity, skin rash.
Interaction
Sympathomimetic effect (a sharp rise in blood pressure) increase tricyclic antidepressants, beta-blockers, MAO inhibitors, hypnotic - alcohol, anxiolytics and hypnotics, side - m-anticholinergics.
Dosage and Administration
Inside (not liquid, squeezed small amount of liquid), in adults and children over 12 years - 1 capsule. 2 times a day (morning and evening before bedtime).
Overdose
Symptoms - drowsiness, dry mouth, dizziness, nausea, irritability, headache, increased blood pressure, tachycardia, arrhythmia, seizures.
Treatment - aspirated stomach contents and washed; activated charcoal and a laxative salt; forced acid diuresis.
Precautionary measures
Not recommended combination with other medicines containing decongestants. Do not drive a car and operate machines and potentially dangerous machinery. In the course of treatment can not drink alcohol.
