Children. The drug Celestoderm®-B can be used to treat children from 6 months. Children may be more susceptible to the use of local SCS, which causes oppression of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HHG) system than older patients, due to increased absorption of the drug, due to the greater ratio of their surface area and body weight. Children who took local SCS had the following side effects: suppression of the function of the GGN system, Cushing's syndrome, linear growth retardation, lag in weight gain, increase in ICP. Symptoms of oppression of the adrenal cortex function in children include a decrease in the plasma cortisol level and a lack of response to stimulation of ACTH. The increase in ICP is manifested by the bulging of the fontanel, headache, bilateral edema of the optic disc.
