menthol / peppermint oil 3.9 / 7.8 g
methylsalicylate 20.2 g
auxiliary substances: petrolatum medical; paraffins, solid
Description of dosage form
Ointments are white or yellow with the smell of menthol and methyl salicylate.

Pharmacological action - local irritating.
Pharmacodynamics
Has analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect.
Indications
arthralgia;
myalgia;
pain syndrome in diseases of the periarticular tissues;
sciatica;
radiculitis.
Contraindications
hypersensitivity to any component of the drug;
open wounds;
skin irritation;
children's age till 6 years.
With caution: pregnancy, breastfeeding, aspirin bronchial asthma, children age from 6 to 12 years.
Side effects
In rare cases, hypersensitivity to the drug, irritation at the injection site, skin allergic reactions, as well as angioedema.
Interaction
The drug causes flushing of the skin and reflexively enhances blood circulation in the subcutaneous tissue, thus, joint application with other drugs of local action can lead to an increase in their absorption. The use of large amounts can increase the toxicity of methotrexate and reduce the therapeutic effect of hypoglycemic agents. The drug should not be used with oral anticoagulants.
Dosing and Administration
Outwardly. The necessary amount of ointment (2-4 g, which corresponds to the volume of a large cherry) is rubbed into the painful areas of the skin. If necessary, the procedure is repeated after several hours (up to 3 times a day). The duration of the course (without consulting a doctor) is up to 10 days.
Overdose
Overdose of menthol and methyl salicylate was observed in some cases, mainly in children, with the occasional ingestion of drugs containing these substances.
Symptoms: agitation, increased depth of breathing, hyperpyrexia, nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting and symptoms of CNS depression such as dizziness, unstable gait, hot flashes, drowsiness, respiratory depression and coma.
Treatment: symptomatic and supportive; correction of electrolyte and water balance, the appointment of absorbents and salt laxatives, forced diuresis, external cooling of the body; in severe cases - blood transfusion, hemodialysis.
Overdosing of the Bom-Benge ointment with local application is rare and only when the drug is misused (application to mucous membranes, extensive areas of damaged or infected skin).

For external use only. Do not use with warming compresses. If skin irritation occurs, discontinue use. Avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes, skin irritation. Do not use the drug for more than 10 days without consulting a doctor.
