Pharmacology

Pharmacological action - anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antiseptic.

Stabilizes cell membranes, inhibits cyclooxygenase, inhibits the synthesis of PG. Antiseptic activity is particularly pronounced in relation to a number of bacteria, including. Gardnerella vaginalis.

Easily passes through mucous membranes, quickly penetrates into inflamed tissues. It is excreted as metabolites by the kidneys and intestines.

Application of Benzydamine

Inflammatory conditions of the oral cavity and throat: pharyngitis, aphthous ulcers, gingivitis, stomatitis, tonsillitis, posttonezillectomies; inflammation of the oral mucosa after radiation and chemotherapy, surgical interventions; insufficiency of the veins of the lower extremities, incl. during pregnancy; phlebitis and thrombophlebitis of superficial veins of legs (combined therapy), condition after sclerotherapy of veins and phlebectomy, post-phlebitis syndromes; nonspecific vaginitis (before and after surgery in the vaginal area, after radiotherapy, use of intrauterine pessaries), fungal and trichomonas infections, inflammation in the area of the uterus of the uterus, estrogen therapy with an atrophied vagina in senile age.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity; for solution - children's age (up to 12 years); for tablets - phenylketonuria.

Side effects

Numbness of the tissues and burning sensation in the mouth (tablets for resorption), dry mouth, drowsiness, allergic reactions (skin rash).

Locally.

Precautions for Benzydamine

When applying the gel, avoid contact with the mucous membranes. Long-term (more than 7 days) treatment should be carried out under the supervision of a doctor.

Caution is prescribed during pregnancy and breastfeeding (tablets, aerosol, powder, solution). Avoid contact with eyes.
