Composition and release form

Pharmachologic effect
Mode of action - anticonvulsant, anxiolytic, myorelaxing, sleeping pills.
It potentiates the central effect of GABA, interacts with benzodiazepine receptors and increases the sensitivity of GABA receptors to the mediator.
Pharmacokinetics
Quickly absorbed, Cmax is determined after 1-2 hours. T1 / 2 - 12-15 hours. Frequent repeated application leads to cumulation.
Indications for the Alprox
Depression, panic disorder, withdrawal of anxiety and anxiety disorders (including depression).
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity (including other benzodiazepines), open-angle glaucoma, acute attack of glaucoma, severe respiratory failure, "nocturnal sleep apnea" syndrome, myasthenia gravis, pregnancy, child age.

Interaction
The effect is enhanced by drugs that depress the central nervous system, alcohol. Cimetidine prolongs excretion.
Dosing and Administration
Inside, the initial dose taken before bedtime. In panic disorders, 0.25-0.5 mg 3 times a day, with a gradual increase in the dose (no more than 1 mg in 3-4 days) to a maximum of 4-6 mg / day, during 4- 12 weeks. With depressive and anxiety disorders - 0.5 mg 3 times (up to 4 mg per day - maximum). Elderly patients - 0.25 mg twice a day with a gradual increase, up to 4 mg per day (in divided doses).
Overdose
Symptoms: drowsiness, confusion, impaired coordination, decreased reflexes, coma.
Treatment: there are no specific antidotes, gastric lavage and maintenance therapy are recommended.
Precautionary measures
Admission should be discontinued gradually, slowly lowering the dose: abrupt withdrawal can be accompanied by withdrawal symptoms (anxiety and fear). With caution appoint people working with mechanisms or drivers of vehicles (slowing the reaction speed and reducing concentration of attention). It is recommended to refrain from drinking alcohol.
