There are new details in a notorious case of tennis player Maria Sharapova related to Mildronate

Mildronate is banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) from January 1, 2016. Sharapova was unable to take part in competitions, starting from 12 March. Experts say that the maximum penalty for an athlete to use this material - suspension from games for four years. Disqualification shall enter into force immediately after Sharapova dismissal from employment. All the parties may appeal the decision within three weeks from the date of its notification.

Maria Yuryevna Sharapova is a Russian professional tennis player, who is ranked world No. 9 by theWomen's Tennis Association (WTA). She is one of ten women, and the only Russian, to hold the career Grand Slam. In March 2016, Sharapova revealed she had failed a drug test at the 2016 Australian Open, admitting to testing positive for meldonium, a substance banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) at the start of 2016, and was provisionally suspended from playing tennis by the International Tennis Federation (ITF)
