Sharapova, because of Mildronate, does not become a part of the Russian national tennis at the Olympics

Eight people were included in the Russian national team on tennis at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, according to the website of the Russian Tennis Federation.

They are Svetlana Kuznetsova, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, Daria Kasatkina, Ekaterina Makarova, Elena Vesnina, Margarita Gasparyan, Andrey Kuznetsov and Evgeny Donskoy.

Tennis player Maria Sharapova was not included in the national team.

Earlier, the International Tennis Federation disqualified Sharapova for receiving Meldonium. She appealed against that decision.

Tennis player did not come out on the court with January 2016. March 21 is the first time in five years, left the top ten tennis rankings after the doping scandal involving the use of Mildronate.

After she confessed to usage of Meldonium, some overseas companies suspended the athlete concluded with advertising contracts.

Meldonium parts of the drug Mildronate prohibited for use with the January 1, 2016. For use of Mildronats athlete can be suspended from playing for four years.

April 13 World Anti-Doping Agency announced that if a doping athlete's sample made before March 1, 2016, contains less than 1 microgram of Meldonium, it is considered acceptable.

According to the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), after the ban of Meldonium was recorded 140 positive doping tests of athletes.

At the time of notification about the discovery in the body some Meldonium received several dozens of Russian athletes. Among them, in particular, Maria Sharapova, skater Ekaterina Bobrova, swimmer Yulia Efimova, skater Paul Pavel Kulizhnikov, short trekisty Yelistratov Semen and Ekaterina Konstantinova.
