Russian tennis player Maria Sharapova could return to competition in January 2017. The journalists said the president of the Russian Tennis Federation (RTF) Shamil Tarpishchev.
In July, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) said that a decision on the doping case Sharapova will be made until September 19 because of what she could not take part in the Olympic Games in the Brazilian Rio de Janeiro.
"In September, everything will be decided cannot say (for sure), but I think that from January 2017 it will start to play." - Said Tarpishchev.

Sharapova was previously excluded from the competition on March 12th. On June 8, the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Sharapova disqualified for two years, the penalty is valid from 26 January 2016.
Athlete filed June 9 in the CAS appeal against his suspension. Sharapova is a five-time winner of the tournament Grand Slam in her asset as a victory in the Fed Cup and a silver medal of the Olympic Games in London in singles. A total of athlete won 38 tournaments of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), 35 of them - in singles.
