Pharmacokinetics

Indications of Apo-Oxtriphylline

Bronchoobstructive syndrome, bronchial asthma, chronic obstructive bronchitis, obstructive pulmonary emphysema.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer in the acute phase, acute myocardial infarction, acute heart failure, age (up to 10 years).

Side effects

Dyspeptic disorders, peptic ulcer and duodenal ulcers, bleeding from the digestive tract, headache, nervousness, insomnia, convulsions, tachycardia, hypotension, collapse, leukopenia, anemia, allergic reactions (urticaria, pruritus, dermatitis).

Interaction

Potentiates the action of diuretics and cardiac glycosides. Reduces the uricosuric effect of probenecid and pyrazolones, the action of lithium carbonate. Concentration in the blood raises erythromycin. The action is potentiated by influenza vaccine and cimetidine. Excretion is increased by substances acidifying the urine, decreasing - alkalinizing. Bronchodilation is enhanced by sympathomimetics. There is antagonism with coumarin anticoagulants and propranolol. Incompatible with morphine and curare-like drugs (bronchospasm may develop). Simultaneous administration of other xanthines can cause excessive CNS excitation.

Dosage and Administration
