Vinpotropile (aka Vinotropil) - is a combined drug. Its active substances are Vinpocetine and Piracetam. Vinpocetine has cerebro protecting properties and Piracetam has nootropic properties. The drug enhances micro-circulation and improves oxygen supply to brain cells. Piracetam increases brain cell metabolism and energy levels. In elderly people the drug can improve posture. The main action of the drug is to oxygenate and activate cerebral metabolism.
Vinpotropile has several actions, including increasing cerebral blood flow and metabolism, antioxidant, neuroprotection, cognition enhancement and anticonvulsant. Vinpotropile has vinpocetine as its active substance. Vinpocetine is synthesized from vincamine. Vincamine is considered to be a cerebral vasolidator. As a drug improving cerebral blood flow Vinpotropile enhances glucose transport to the brain, decreases aggregation of platelets and blood hyperviscosity. As a nootropic or "smart" drug Vinpotropile enhances cerebral integrative activity, enables memory consolidation, and facilitates the process of learning.
