Stresam (Etifoxinum, Strezam) - anxiolytic (tranquilizer). Benzoxazine derivative possesses anxiolytic activity, less sedative effect. Selectively affects the supramolecular chloride channels of GABA-benzodiazepine-receptor complex hlorinofor inhibiting of GABA-ergic transmission. It does not cause addiction and the syndrome of "cancellation".

Special instructions:

As part Strezam lactose is present, it should be considered when administering the drug to patients with galactosemia, a syndrome of malabsorption of glucose and galactose, as well as in the case of lactase deficiency. Side effects:

The drug is taken orally 1 caps. 3 times / day or 2 capsules. 2 times / day, with a little water. The course of treatment typically is from a few days to 4-6 weeks. The dose and duration of treatment should be determined individually depending on the patient's condition.

Drug interactions:

Stresam potentiates the effect of drugs which depress the central nervous system (including opioids, barbiturates, sleeping pills, antihistamines, antipsychotics). Stresam increases the impact of ethanol.

Overdose:

Symptoms: lethargy, excessive sleepiness.

Treatment: gastric lavage with water, symptomatic treatment, no specific antidote.
