Acular LS eye drops 0.4% 5ml

Acular LS (Akular LS) eye drops - is an ophthalmic agent for topical application. Has analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antipyretic properties, which is due to the ability of the drug to inhibit the synthesis of prostaglandins.

The main active substance of drops of eye Acuilar LS is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug ketorolacatromethamine (Ketorolac), which has pronounced analgesic properties. It also has an anti-inflammatory effect and moderately lowers body temperature. The action of ketorolacatromethamine is due to the possibility of inhibiting the activity of cyclooxygenase (COX), the main enzyme that participates in the metabolism of a prostaglandin precursor such as arachidonic acid, and prostaglandins play a major role in the development of inflammation, the pathogenesis of pain and hyperthermia.

Indications:

• otofobia,
• sensation of a foreign body in the eye,
• pain and burning sensation in the body of vision,
• lachrymation after operations on the cornea.

Contraindications:

• individual hypersensitivity to the main active substance,
• in late pregnancy.
• in childhood.

The drug is prescribed with caution:

• patients with intolerance to acetylsalicylic acid, NSAIDs, since it is possible to cross-react hypersensitivity to ketorolac;
• in the first and second trimesters of pregnancy, with breastfeeding;
• with the simultaneous administration of pharmaceuticals that affect the coagulation time, because of the threat of bleeding;
• patients with postoperative complications after ophthalmic operations;
• patients who have problems with the innervation of the cornea and the defects of its epithelium;
• persons with concomitant diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis;
• in the case of existing pathological processes on the mucous membrane of the eyes (for example, the "dry eye" syndrome);
• in between frequently recurring ophthalmic operations due to the rather high risk of developing unpredictable corneal reactions that can lead to partial or complete loss of vision.

Special instructions:

In case of long-term topical application of eye drops, Acrylar LS may develop keratitis, thinning and corneal epithelium, erosion, corneal ulceration or perforation, which can lead to loss of vision. If there are signs of a breach of the integrity of the corneal epithelium, these drops are immediately discarded.

Patients who use contact lenses need to temporarily stop using eye drops Akyular LS. Due to the fact that the instillations of the drug can lead to a brief blurring of the vision, before its restoration it is necessary to abandon the management of any vehicles and work with automatic mechanisms that require excessive concentration of attention.

Suggested Use:

Acular LS (Akular LS) eye drops should be instillated one drop of solution four times a day, or if necessary, into the conjunctival sac of the injured eye until the clinical signs disappear. They can be used continuously for up to four days.
