Composition and release form

1 ml emulsion for IV injections contains propofol 10 mg, as well as soybean oil, medium chain triglycerides, glycerin, egg lecithin and sodium oleate; in 20 ml ampoules, 5 ampoules or 50 ml bottles in the outline cell package, 1 contour cell pack or 1 bottle in the box.

Dosing and Administration

IV, the dose is set individually.

General anesthesia for adults.

Introductory anesthesia: adults - 20-40 mg every 10 seconds until signs of anesthesia appear. Patients under 55 years of age usually need 1.5 to 2.5 mg / kg, older than 55 years, and grade III and IV ASA patients, especially those with heart failure - the dose should be reduced to 1 mg / kg and the rate of administration ( 20 mg every 10 seconds). Children older than 3 years - slowly until the appearance of clinical signs of anesthesia. The dose is adjusted in accordance with the age and / or body weight of the child. Children over 8 years of age are likely to have a dose of 2.5 mg / kg. Children of younger age may need a higher dose. Children of classes III and IV of the ASA are recommended a lower dose. It is not recommended for use in children under 3 years of age.

Maintenance of anesthesia: adults - in the form of continuous infusion or repeated bolus injections. With prolonged infusion, the dose is usually in the range of 6-12 mg / kg. Elderly patients, patients with severe general condition, patients with grade III and IV ASA and patients with hypovolemia dose reduced to a minimum of 4 mg / kg / h. Bolus is administered from 25 to 50 mg of the drug. Children older than 3 years - in the form of continuous infusion or bolus injections, usually satisfactory anesthesia is provided at a rate of administration of 9-15 mg / kg / h.

Achieving a sedative effect: for intensive care, prolonged infusion at a rate of 0.3-0.4 mg / kg / h is recommended for patients on mechanical ventilation; in diagnostic and surgical procedures - depending on the clinical picture, usually 0.5-1 mg for 1-5 min to achieve the effect and 1.5-4.5 mg / kg / h - to maintain. To quickly achieve a deep sedative effect - bolus 10-20 mg.

Do not use in children under 16 years with surgical and diagnostic procedures to achieve a sedative effect.

Do not use the drug during pregnancy and during breastfeeding, and as an anesthetic in obstetrics. Do not mix with other injectable solutions, except 5% glucose solution, lidocaine solution for injection, fentanyl injection solution.
