Pharmachologic effect
Mode of action - Immunostimulating.
Formation of specific immunity against polioviruses.
Clinical Pharmacology
Immunity is acquired after the first oral dose and is increased after the introduction of the subsequent 2 doses. Seroconversion is observed in 98-100% of the vaccinated. There are data indicating the formation of local immunity by stimulating the production of IgA in the mucous membranes of the nasopharynx and intestines in grafted, which prevents the fecal-oral route of transmission of wild poliovirus. One of the advantages of the vaccine is the possibility of creating collective immunity due to transmission of the vaccine strain to unvaccinated individuals.
