Composition and release form

1 retard tablet contains 600 mg pentoxifylline, 10 blisters in a blister, 2, 5 and 10 blisters in a box.

Pharmacological action

Mode of action - Vasodilator, antiaggregational, improving microcirculation, normalizing the rheological properties of blood.

Increases the elasticity of red blood cells, reduces their adhesiveness; Inhibits phosphodiesterase, promotes accumulation of cAMP in cells, blocks adenosine receptors.

Indications for Pentohexal

Violations of peripheral circulation (including obliterating endarteritis).

Contraindications for Pentohexal

Hypersensitivity, acute myocardial infarction, massive hemorrhages, severe atherosclerosis of the vessels of the brain and heart, severe disturbances of the heart rhythm.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding

It should not be used during pregnancy and during lactation (pentoxifylline and its metabolites penetrate the placenta, pass into the mother's milk).

Side effects

Dyspeptic disorders, dizziness, headache, hypotension, arrhythmia, hot flashes, itching, hyperemia, bronchospasm, anaphylactic shock, bleeding, thrombocytopenia, aplastic anemia, allergic reactions (hives, angioedema, etc.).

Interaction

Strengthens the effect of antihypertensive drugs and anticoagulants. When co-administered with insulin or oral antidiabetics, potentiation of hypoglycemia is possible.

Dosage and Administration

Inside, after eating, not chewing, drinking water. Adults and adolescents with a body weight of more than 50 kg are given 600 mg twice a day. Patients with reduced renal function (Cl creatinine less than 10 mL / min) are reduced. The course of treatment is set individually.

Precautionary measures

A careful medical supervision is necessary when taking the drug in patients with reduced renal function. If you have hemorrhages in the retina during admission, you should cancel the drug. Regular monitoring of the blood picture is necessary.
