Trade name of the drug – Ditamin

Dosage Form: Injection, oral solution, Retard tablets

Composition (per tablet): 1 ampoule with 1 ml solution for injection contains dihydroergotamine mesylate 1 mg; in multiples of 50 pcs.

1 ml oral solution (20 drops) - 2 mg; in bottles of 30 ml.

1 retard tablet - 2.5 mg; in blister 10 pcs., in multiples of 2 blisters.

Pharmacological Properties of Ditamin

Pharmachologic effect - Mode of action –vasodilator.

Blocks alpha 1 and alpha 2-adrenergic receptors vessels, causing their widening slightly increases the tone of veins.

Indications for Ditamin

Migraine, headache vasomotor origin, orthostatic hypotension.

Contraindications for Ditamin

Hypersensitivity, failure of the coronary circulation, angina, myocardial infarction, hypertension, intermittent claudication, sepsis, shock, renal and hepatic failure.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding

Contraindicated during pregnancy. Lactating women should be the period of treatment to stop breast-feeding.

Ditamin Dosage and Administration

Oral and parenteral. Migraine, for relief of attack (as early as possible) / m or n / k - 1-3 ampoules or / 1 ml, the total weekly dose - no more than 6 ml; prevention - 25 drops or 1 tablet. 2-3 times per day (maximum dose - 10 mg / day) for several weeks. Orthostatic hypotension - 25 drops (Table 1.) In the morning and 50 drops or 2 tablets. evening, for two weeks.

Side effect of Ditamin

Nausea, vomiting, muscle weakness, tingling in the extremities muscles, myalgia, angina pectoris, bradycardia or tachycardia, dizziness, swelling, itching; rarely - ischemia of fingers and toes (gangrene), confusion, convulsions, hemiplegia.

Storage conditions of Ditamin

In a dry, dark place at a temperature no higher than 25 ° C.
