Characteristics of the substance Alfa-glutamyl-triptophan
A synthetic dipeptide consisting of amino acid residues - glutamine and tryptophan.
White (white with a yellowish tinge) powder or porous mass. Soluble in water.
Pharmacology
Pharmacological action - immunomodulating.
It stimulates cellular factors of immunogenesis, proliferation and differentiation of T-lymphocyte progenitors into mature immunocompetent cells, normalizes the T-helper / T-suppressor ratio, increases cAMP concentration in T-lymphocyte progenitors. Strengthens nonspecific resistance of the organism, promotes activation of phagocytic functions of neutrophils and monocytes / macrophages; Stimulates interferonogenesis and the function of natural killers (in low doses). Has antimediator properties. Highly effective in immunodeficiencies of T-suppressor type.
Application of the substance Alpha-glutamyl-triptophan
Complex therapy of acute and chronic infectious and inflammatory diseases, accompanied by a decrease in the parameters of cellular immunity. Prevention of infectious complications, suppression of immunity, hematopoiesis, regeneration processes in the post-traumatic and postoperative period, during radiotherapy or chemotherapy, when using massive doses of antibiotics. Prophylaxis and complex therapy of viral and bacterial infections, acute and chronic respiratory diseases.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity, pregnancy, breastfeeding.
Side effects of the substance Alpha-glutamyl-triptophan
Allergic reactions.
Interaction
Increases the effectiveness of other therapies (cytostatics, radiation therapy, etc.). It is not recommended to apply simultaneously with large doses of glucocorticoids.
Overdose
At 10-fold excess of a single dose with intranasal administration in the form of a spray dosed (25 mcg / dose), an influenza-like syndrome is possible that disappears after the drug is withdrawn.
Routes of administration
IM, intranasal.
Precautions for the substance Alpha-glutamyl-triptophan
The drug is administered under the control of immune status indicators.
