Dosing and Administration

Inhalation, using special solvents calibrated for Aerrane.

Introductory anesthesia: the initial concentration of Aerrane is 0.5%. Concentrations of 1.3-3% cause a stage of surgical anesthesia after 7-10 minutes. To prevent the occurrence of cough or laryngospasm, it is recommended to use barbiturates together in hypnotic doses or propofol, etomidate or midazolam.

Maintenance of anesthesia: concentrations of 1 - 2.5% are recommended with simultaneous administration of N2O or O2. With the simultaneous introduction of pure oxygen, higher Aerrane concentrations of 1.5-3.5% may be necessary.

Excretion from anesthesia: the rapid withdrawal of a patient from anesthesia provides a decrease in the concentration of the drug to 0.5% at the end of the operation or to 0% - in the phase of suturing. After stopping the introduction of anesthetics, ventilate with 100% oxygen until the patient wakes up completely. If the vector gas is a mixture of 50% O2 and 50% N2O, the minimum alveolar Aerrane concentration is 0.65%.
